Kimona is a stunning Singer/ Songwriter hailing from South London.

With a background in both dance and acting, she is a well rounded performer who is able to step out on stage and instantly captivate any audience.

 

Kimona released her debut solo EP, 'Starring Role' on 18th November and it is available to buy from iTunes. 

Kimona draws on her life experiences to write all her own songs. Her hauntingly beautiful voice and soulful lyrics make listening to her music a deeply moving experience.

 

Kimona has a distinctive style, inspired by 1950ʼs Hollywood glamour and is considered the urban sceneʼs modern day pin up girl.

 

After securing a church solo at the age of 11, she relentlessly pursued a career in music, with help and encouragement from her mother who nurtured her love for singing. In college, she starred in a school production of ʻBLING - The Hip Hoperaʼ, which premiered at the Battersea Arts Centre. The show was a surprise hit, and was included in the ʻEdinburgh Fringe Festivalʼ where it sold out completely. The BLING tour concluded with a stint in New York at Thomas Jefferson High School and Brooklyn University.

 

Kimonaʼs first hit was a song produced by the talented Crazy Cousinz entitled ʻI See Youʼ and quickly became a club smash and achieved over 400,000 hits on YouTube. Its rhythmic dance beat perfectly compliments her soulful voice. You will never fail to be amazed by the huge voice emanating from such a petite young woman.

 

Becoming a respected name in the funky house scene, promoters and producers all want to work with Kimona. Performing up and down the country, she was even included in the line up for the UK Funky Live show at Wembley Arena in 2009. Kimona has also had the great privilege to support US acts Mario and Omarion.

 

Kimona is a versatile writer and artist; she can give any genre her stamp and make it her own.Her musical taste is an eclectic mix of R&B, Jazz and a variety of other sounds from around the world.
